Basic Video Production (Face to Face)
This is a two-day theory and hands-on training on the basics of the pre-production, production, and post production process such as: storytelling, scriptwriting and storyboarding, the production staff, camera operations, directing, lighting, editing, and more.
Day 1 will cover the theory part from pre‐production to post production. There will also be a hands-on take home assignment to be checked the following day.
Day 2 will cover the post production stage and an actual short video production (group) activity that will be produced by the participants and viewed at the day’s end.
Note: Different video clips and photos will be shown and analyzed during the 2-day workshop. The instructor will also share valuable insider information on the industry. He may adjust, highlight, add/subtract certain topics depending on the students’ needs.

- Introduction
- History, philosophy, and art of cinema
- Film versus video
- Stages of production and administration
- Pre production, production, post production
- Functions of the producer, writer, director, etc.
- Tools and elements of videography
- Camera, lens, mounting
- Cinematic Properties
- Shot composition, basic lighting, camera movement, effects, etc
By the end of the workshop, participants should be able to produce, write, direct, and shoot a 3–5 minute video project.
Requirements:
Participants who have their own digital camcorders or DSLR camera are encouraged to bring them to class.
