Studio Lighting for Beginners (Full Online)

At some point in every aspiring professional photographer’s journey, mastering studio lighting becomes an essential skill. Unlike natural light, studio lighting gives you complete control over your environment—though that level of control can feel overwhelming at first.

This webinar will walk you through the fundamentals of studio lighting, equipping you with the knowledge to confidently photograph both people and products for commercial use.

💡 While compact flash and continuous light sources can also be used in a studio, this course will focus on the use of studio strobes to help you achieve professional-quality results.

What You’ll Learn:

In this course, the following common questions and more will be addressed:

  • What camera settings should I use with studio strobes?
  • Which strobes should I buy?
  • Which light modifiers should I invest in?
  • Where should I place my lights when shooting?
  • What should I invest in if I want to put up a photography studio?
  • What’s the minimum size requirement in a photography studio?

What You’ll Achieve

By the end of the workshop, you will:

  • Identify the essential studio equipment and accessories needed for different photography assignments
  • Understand the basic principles and techniques of studio lighting
  • Set up studio lighting and equipment to match your creative vision
  • Achieve correct exposure in studio photography
  • Make informed decisions about which studio gear to invest in based on your goals
