SUMMARY:VGD NC III Module 3 (COC 3 & 4):  Developing Designs for User Experience + Use Interface
DESCRIPTION:This is the 3rd of five modules in the Core Unit of Competency in Visual Graphic Design (VGD) NC III.\nThis module covers the knowledge, skills and attitude required to incorporate the principles of visual design and communication into the development of designs for user experience, and the knowledge, skills and attitude required to incorporate the principles of visual design and communication into the development of designs for user interface.\nMethod of Teaching\nFull Online, Self-paced, with consultations via video conferencing platforms.\nDuration:\n72 hours (9 days)\nWhat will be covered\nBasic, common, and core competencies comprise the Visual Graphic Design (VGD) NC III program. This module will cover below module content. Plus, the free Learning Management System (LMS) access to the Visual Graphic Design (VGD) NC III Basic and Common Units of Competency.\nModule Content:\n\n(COC 3) Learning Outcome 1: Receive and interpret the client brief\n(COC 3) Learning Outcome 2: Select tools, delivery platform and appropriate software\n(COC 3) Learning Outcome 3: Generate and develop designs for user interface\n(COC 3) Learning Outcome 4: Finalize user interface design\n(COC 4) Learning Outcome 1: Receive and interpret the client brief\n(COC 4) Learning Outcome 2: Select media/ materials for user experience design\n(COC 4) Learning Outcome 3: Produce mockup of screen flow\n(COC 4) Learning Outcome 4: Create Page template (wireframing)\n(COC 4) Learning Outcome 5: Create page template/ user experience wireframing\n(COC 4) Learning Outcome 6: Finalize wireframe and design flow of the selected user experience media\n\nEntry Requirements\nGeneral:\n\nMust have completed at least 10 yrs. basic education or an alternative learning systems (ALS) certificate of completion with grade 10 equivalent holder.\nMust have drawing and drafting skills.\nCan communicate either oral and written\nMust have computer operation skills and at least 1 graphic software knowledge and skills.\nMust pass the aptitude and artistic/talent determination test given by the institution\n\nInstitutional Requirements:\n\nComputer with the following software already installed:\n\nAdobe Photoshop or Gimp\nAdobe XD / Sketchup\n\n\nMust have stable internet connection\nAdobe Apps for Graphic Design bundle course or get tested for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)***\n\n*** This is a pre-requisite course before taking any Core Modules. Students may also submit requirements and get tested for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) if they have experience using the 3 programs or similar platforms. \nDocuments:\n\nDuly accomplished Learners Profile Form (MIS 03-01)\nFour pieces of passport-size colored photo\n\nwhite background\nshirt with collar\nwith name in front (digital text is acceptable)\n\n\nPhotocopy of any valid government ID (showing the correct spelling of your full name).\nPhotocopy of birth certificate\n\nRecognition of Prior Learning (RPL)\nThe Visual Graphic Design (VGD) NC III training program offers RPL for existing competencies. The RPL framework enables easier participation in the training by acknowledging skills and knowledge obtained through prior experience, such as in the workplace.\nTo be eligible for RPL, candidates must provide:\n\nEvidence of relevant knowledge and skills (e.g. employment certificate, training certificates related to the program)\nPass an Institutional Assessment\n\nThe Institutional Assessment evaluates a trainee’s mastery of competency units and is conducted by a trainer before each module starts. The Visual Graphic Design NC III qualification can be obtained by earning Certificates of Competency (COCs) in the following areas:\n\nCOC 1: Develop designs for logo and print media\nCOC 2: Develop designs for user experience and user interface\nCOC 3: Develop designs for product packaging\nCOC 4: Design booth and product window/display\n\n2.) Upon obtaining all COCs, trainees must complete the National Assessment.
